Last weekend, Elliott and his family went to Winterfest in downtown Oakland, Maryland.
Winterfest is an annual event that showcases ice sculptures carved by Bill Sandusky of Frozen Assets. This year’s event had perfect winter weather. 30-40 ice sculptures sponsored by local businesses have been created and strategically placed around Oakland. Local artists also join in on the fun and set up vendor booths displaying their artwork. Ray from Pleasant Valley Dream Rides was there with his beautiful horse, Big Red, taking Winterfest goers on classic sleigh rides.
If you haven’t ever been to Oakland’s Winterfest, do not miss it next year. If you are in the Oakland area, the sculptures are still standing, so go see them for as long as the weather stays cold.
Winterfest is a weekend long event. Check out their website for more details. http://www.oaklandwinterfest.com
