Blue Moon Rising is an amazing, charming place to stay. Very unique tiny houses! We stayed in Bella Donna. It was quiet and relaxing. The tiny houses were very clean, had absolutely everything we needed. We will be returning for each season. It was beautiful there! (On TripAdvisor)

Our family went for a quick, unplugged vacation. The cabin is considered tiny but plenty of room for the 4 of us. The beds were comfortable and my kids loved sleeping in the loft. With no tv, they actually played games and colored together each morning. We sat around a fire the first night and met all the other guests. The staff could not have been more pleasant. The location was central to activities. We are looking forward to going back. (On TripAdvisor)

I have been wanting to stay at BMR for years. We booked a trip for January but needed to reschedule for March due to a Jan blizzard. March did not disappoint, perfect Weather. The cabin we stayed in (Bella Donna) was just enough room for 5(family of 4 and a big doggy). Our dog was so happy here too, glad she could finally join us on a vacation. Great location, close to everything. All the amenities you will need are available but also everything is so close you can pop out to get anything you need. Great opportunity to get outdoors at the end of winter. We will be back. (On TripAdvisor)

Wow. Such a cute community of small houses! We could not be happier with our stay here. Realize that the cabins are close together, but it gives you a community feeling. Very clean, cute and well equipped. Trails to hike right on the property. Great time of year for a stay…. not crowded at all! 🙂 (On TripAdvisor)

Quick trip and we had a wonderful time. Great time from check-in to check-out. Nice paths all around the property. We really enjoyed having our dog on the trip. Shawn was great. Fire pit was fun on Saturday night. (On TripAdvisor)

We stayed here (my daughters and friends) to go skiing at Wisp Resort for my daughter’s college spring break. Wisp is very close by to the cabins. The cabins are beautifully done, cozy and well-appointed with all the kitchen gear needed. The bathroom had their hand-milled soap made on the premises and at night there were these beautiful solar lights in the trees. I love that they recycle everything you use in the rooms including a compost container for food scraps etc.
Great spot if you want to get away from it all and connect with nature while still enjoying the deep creek area and all that it has to offer.

The staff was super friendly and accommodation. I mentioned to the caretaker one morning that we wanted to do a fire that night and he said he would have it ready for us when we got back. We went to a great dinner at Ace’s and came back to a roaring fire outside where we made smores and spent the evening.
he also spent the time to show us each cabin. They are all very different and very charming.
We checked out their restaurant in town (Blue Moon Café) which was also very nice and has live music on the weekends. I could go on and on about how great this place is but will simply say that it is well worth the visit you won’t be disappointed! (On TripAdvisor)

Had a fantastic time. [The] best part was [that] we were able to bring our dog with us which made the trip all that more special. The staff was very down to earth and very helpful with ideas on things to do in Deep Creek. Swallow Creek Falls is a definite day trip. Relax get away from all the electronics and enjoy the outdoors. This was one of the most memorable vacations we have had in a long time. (On TripAdvisor)

I loved everything about this place! It’s so quaint and inviting and their staff are absolutely wonderful. Your staff member Shawn deserves a big fat raise! He was so helpful, pleasant and accommodating the entire stay. We will def be back and will recommend Blue Moon to everyone we know. (On Facebook)
This was my wife and I’s second stay and even thought it was only for a single night we enjoyed our visit, looking forward to our next stay. Keep up doing what your doing. (On Facebook)
This place was the cutest! Perfect for a romantic weekend. Everything was within a 6 minute driving distance. Staff was excellent, informative, and helpful especially sean. I can’t wait to go back and see what the summer holds for us! (On Facebook)
This was our first BMR experience, and we couldn’t be happier. Moonshine is a cozy, beautiful, tiny house with all the amenities you could need for a weekend getaway. The staff was so accommodating and the view was spectacular. We cooked hamburgers on the grill and made mountain pies on the fire, walked the two trails on the property, and hiked for hours at Swallow Falls (which is just a short ride away.). We can’t wait to go back to experience each houses’ uniqueness and charm. (On Facebook)

Best getaway I have found in a lot of years. I will keep going back until I at least stay in every cabin. Done 3 so far. Going back in Jan/Feb 16 for our 4th stay. (On Facebook)

Reclaimed materials that have been thoughtfully redesigned into incredible tiny homes. I hate to just call them tiny homes though, because these places are individual works of art. (On Facebook)

Just got back from spending the weekend there with my family. We loved the tiny cabin experience. My kids (ages 2 and 5) enjoyed the hiking trails just steps from our cabin and roasting marshmallows at the campfire. Definitely recommend. Looking forward to making this an annual tradition. Wonderful place. Staff is AMAZING!!!!! [I] stayed at FUNK-O-MATIC. We stayed for 5 days with 2 small children and it was perfect! Definitely recommended staying for more than 3 days to get the entire experience. Super cute place. I would recommend this place to everyone! (On Facebook)

Right from the beginning we were greeted as guests to a home. We loved the genuine service, the tiny houses, the cleanliness (not one spider web in the wooded area!) and of course the bonfire overlooking the lake. Just one night was incredibly relaxing!! Runs about $260 a night with taxes but you have include entertainment with that because it’s just breathtaking. We’ll be back soon!!! (On Facebook)

What a great escape from the city (DC)! The BMR team was so welcoming and helpful. The cabins are perfectly outfitted with all you need and nothing more. Despite wanting to keep this place to myself, I strongly recommend BMR to others. Great weekend getaway. We’ll definitely be back. (On Facebook)

We have stayed there a couple times the last few years and have always had a wonderful experience. Cabins are quaint and homey, staff is friendly and coffee is superb. It’s a fun experience to stay in a tiny eco-friendly cabin. (On Facebook)

Its a great location – across the street from wisp and within a mile of everything you need. I loved being able to bring my dog and hiking the trails on the property. The cabins are so cozy, we spent hours reading at the window seat. We will return! (On Facebook)

We have had the pleasure of staying here twice; in two different tiny houses and we have loved everything about them. The cabins are wonderful and the staff is just perfect. We will be back soon! (On Facebook)

Beautiful setting, well-crafted cabins and Hobbitats, love the repurposed materials. Completely unique and cool with awesome owners/staff. Did I mention the spectacular view of Deep Creek Lake? Great getaway spot…(On Facebook)

We just returned from a family trip to Deep Creek, MD and can’t say enough about this establishment. The cabins are wonderful and very clean. All of the cabins have a different layout/ theme that will suit individual needs. So be sure to ask which cabin is right for your family – the staff is very knowledgeable and willing to assist.

Each cabin has it own outdoor shower which is quite an experience (there is a full bathroom inside each cabin as well). From the location, you have a wonderful view of Deep Creek Lake. Blue Moon Rising also has a dock on the lake that customers may utilize.

The staff […] are very friendly, helpful and willing to go out of their way to assist customers; they always spoke to our family and offered us rides to and from our cabin.  This is a newer establishment and very unique in its layout and concept.

Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. Hoping to visit here again in the future.
Thanks, Blue Moon Rising, for a great stay!

My husband two kids and I just had a WONDERFUL stay in the Walden. Everything here was amazing and much more than expected. The staff was very helpful, always coming out to see if we need a ride up their small hill (they will be installing ipads in the cabins to “call” for a ride soon also), the retreat [itself was] very beautiful and extremely well thoughtout. Everything was brand new and SO clean!! We loved the cabin, the hiking trails, the dock across the street which is right next to a small restaurant/ bar on the water)… it’s easy access to everything. We WILL be making this a yearly vacation. (On TripAdvisor

Everything about Blue Moon Rising was perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful. The tiny cabins are beautiful and well equipped with everything you need. The grounds are wonderful with beautifully maintained hiking trails- like Fern Gully. Dog friendly with lots of friendly dogs:). We especially enjoyed the fire pits which are lit at dusk each night. It really was the best weekend and we are already planning a return trip for fall. (On TripAdvisor)

We’ll undoubtedly be back. Not only are they pet-friendly, their little homes are absolutely charming. The “tiny village” is relaxing to wake up in. Had a lovely morning walking around, past the other tiny homes down to the Phoenix (a community building with a kitchen, bathroom, and dinette area). If you’re looking for an escape in this area, this is the place to be. The view over the lake and the eco buildings give a nice energy to the place. We didn’t want to leave after checkout. My husband and I made the trip here from VT on our way down to Annapolis for Thanksgiving. It was out of the way, but totally worth it! The cabins were beautiful. We stayed in Funkomatik 513 and loved it. Sean built us an awesome fire in the main fire pit and we had a great time! The night we spent at Blue Moon Rising was the best night’s sleep we’ve had in a long time. The shower was also the best shower ever. Sitting on the deck watching the sunrise was a great way to wake up! We will make the trek back! (On TripAdvisor)

My husband and I with two of my best friends decided to take a last minute trip. We came across Blue Moon Rising and instantly booked it! When we arrived the staff members were so accommodating and happy to have us. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. I was glued to the porch that overlooked the woods and spent had my morning cup of coffee to my evening glass of wine there! I highly recommend Blue Moon Rising. (On TripAdvisor)

2 young teens and I stayed here to check out the area and go rafting. If you like “Tiny Houses” on HGTV or quirky this is the place. The kids loved the uniqueness of the place and our cabin. The first night only 1 other cabin was occupied so we checked out the others to pick favorites. We also did their 2 walks on the property, had a lovely evening at the campfire (had to run out for s’more stuff”) with the 2 moms out for a ladies weekend. Very close to the lake, rafting, multiple state parks which we plan to check out next time. The 2nd night 7 cabins were occupied; the kids met the other people, sat in hammocks, threw the football etc. shared s’mores again at the campfire. The cabins are quirky – plates don’t match, recycled parts which is all part of the charm. We loved the outdoor shower (there is one for each cabin and an indoor one) and used it only. There are a variety of bed options but be aware that many cabins do have a loft style bed if it sleeps 4. On another review site saw people complain about the composting, strip your own bedding etc. If you’re looking for 5 star you have picked the wrong place – if you’ve done you’re research this is an eco friendly (good to learn about for all of us and surely you can participate for a couple days??!!) Plus I’ve stayed at plenty of condos/houses where you get the housekeepers off to a start by taking out your trash, leaving clean dishes and stripping the beds so IMO they just didn’t know where they were staying. Staff was pleasant. I think the price is a little high but with a Groupon was totally worth it. (On TripAdvisor)

This place has 14 tiny home cabins. We stayed in Blue Sky and I can’t recommend this place enough. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing get away this is the place to stay. They are dog friendly and environmentally friendly. I have never been as relaxed as I have after staying here for 2 days. The staff was super friendly and so were all the other guests.(On TripAdvisor)

We stayed in Bella Donna for a night because it was half way between our houses and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s very unique and has some charming touches. The staff was helpful and courteous and was always there to help carry bags and give rides up the hill. We will be back!.(On TripAdvisor)
