We are fully into fall season with the gorgeous colorful trees, warm candle scents at the stores, and pumpkin spiced everything! We enjoy the cozy feeling of boots, jackets, and warming up with a blanket next to the fireplace. Since fall is one of our favorite seasons of the year, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite fall activities.
Go to a Corn Maze
If you haven’t made corn mazes a family tradition yet, this is the year to start! Cove Run Farms has a corn maze, petting zoo, tractor rides, and duck racing. This is an event the whole family will love. This is a great way to support a local farm while enjoying some fun fall activities, too.
Enjoy a Hike
Fall is full of change. Change can be hard for some, but out of change can come so much beauty and growth. Just take a hike around Garrett County to the beauty of the fall leaves changing colors. There are so many great hidden gems you can find for hiking spots around Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County. Fall time is a quieter time to take a nature hike as the weather is a little cooler, so bundle up and enjoy the beauty nature has to offer this time of year.
Visit Local Farms
There are so many local farms in Garrett County and fall is a great time to visit them. With apples, pumpkins, and other fruits and vegetables in season, you will find many options for homemade meals. We love supporting local farms. Read our blog post about the benefits of eating locally grown food.
We love to do pumpkin carving. You can get creative with so many different designs. Get a mix of pumpkin sizes that are tall and wide, and have some crafty time with family or friends. You can find great pumpkin carving designs on Pinterest. We suggest oven roasting the pumpkin seeds for a delicious snack to munch on.
