Is it just us or do the summers seem shorter every year? We have been enjoying the sun so much that back to school snuck up on us. As we wrap up our summer and get back into school and work mode, let’s enjoy some end of summer reflections. 

Lake days at Deep Creek Lake

Lake days at Deep Creek Lake are our favorite days. There are so many great activities: boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, fishing, and more. For a more relaxed day, you can pull up a cozy chair and read a book. The sound of water waves are relaxing to listen to in the background.

Camping

Camp nights with family and friends are where some of the best memories are made. It’s a time to be in the quiet of nature without technology. This is when genuine connections and conversations are made – sitting around the campfire, roasting marshmallows, and telling stories. We love taking a hike in the early mornings while watching the sunrise. 

Golfing

We love golf days. Getting a round of 18 in the morning surrounded by nature – there’s nothing like it. Wisp Resort has two courses: Lodestone and Fantasy Valley. We love to finish our round with lunch at the Mountain Park Café. After our morning round and lunch, we have the rest of the day to enjoy the lake, a bike ride, or other family activities.

Adventures With Our Dogs

We love enjoying adventures with our dogs. Deep Creek Lake offers so many dog friendly activities like vacationing, hiking, state parks, and dog-friendly restaurants. Our dogs are like family, and we love taking them on new adventures. Dogs need vacations, too!

Time for an End of Summer Vacation

It’s fun thinking about our end of summer reflections. While the summer is coming to an end, there is still plenty of sun to last before the air becomes brisk and the leaves begin to change. August and the beginning of September are full of sunshine and are a perfect time for lake days.
